Antonio Delgado | Lieutenant Governor of New York

Serve America first endorsed Antonio in 2018 as a promising candidate for New York’s 19th district. That year, Delgado defeated a Republican incumbent to join the cohort of Democrats that flipped the House, becoming the first person of color to represent Upstate New York. The 2026 midterms present similar circumstances to those of 2018, and he is a testament to the value of service-based candidates in an election that Democrats cannot afford to lose.

In 2022, Delgado decided to leave Congress when New York Governor Kathy Hochul appointed him to serve the state as Lieutenant Governor. Delgado has helped New Yorkers by leading the state’s regional economic development councils and as chair of the State’s hate and bias prevention unit.
