Dr. Pritesh Gandhi

Pritesh has dedicated his life to improving healthcare outcomes for Americans in the public and private sectors. Though his 2020 campaign for Texas’ 10th district proved unsuccessful, his commitment to serving others is unwavering. In the Biden administration, Pritesh served as Chief Medical Officer in the Department of Homeland Security until January of 2023. In this capacity, he was a member of Biden’s Presidential COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force and led DHS’ newly-established Office of Health Security.

These days, Pritesh is System Senior Vice President at CommonSpirit Health, the country’s second largest nonprofit healthcare chain. He is also President & Founder of Effect Health, a consultancy that supports clients in primary care delivery, health equity, digital health, and disaster response.
