Pia Dandiya | Florida’s 21st District

Born and raised in Jupiter, Florida to Indian parents, Pia has devoted her career to expanding opportunity through education and public service. She began as a Teach for America teacher in Boston, where she led her students to the highest growth percentile in state assessments, before returning to Teach for America in New York to develop the next generation of teachers.

She then became one of the youngest principals in the country, founding a high school in Harlem where every single graduate earned college admission despite 86% living below the poverty line — one of the highest-performing schools in New York state.

Pia went on to serve as a White House Fellow on the Domestic Policy Council and Department of Education, working at the highest levels of government on the issues she'd spent her career tackling in classrooms. She later led public sector initiatives at Apple, partnering with state leaders to modernize education, healthcare, and government, and was appointed by Governor Pritzker to Illinois' P-20 Council, co-chairing its K-12 Computer Science working group.

She holds a BA in Government from Harvard and a Master's in Education from Boston University. Pia lives in Palm Beach Gardens with her husband and son.
